Musseling Into Texas
Zebra mussels have been found in another Texas lake; officials are concerned the mussels are entering river systems in northern part of state (thanks to W^2 for the tip :-)).

Soldiering On
Water soldier (Stratiotes aloides), an aquatic plant species native to Europe, has escaped ponds and aquariums to invade Canada's Trent River. Treatment is underway on the more than 20,000 plants that have been found so far.

Spotting Knapweed
Read about one man's attempts to manually control spotted knapweed (Centaurea maculosa, C. biebersteinii, C. stoebe ssp. micranthos, etc. etc.) in a wildlife sanctuary in Pennsylvania.

Clamoring For More
Asian clams (Corbicula fluminea) have been found for the first time in South Dakota. The clams were discovered in Lewis and Clark Lake, in the southeast tip of the state.

Cell Invasion Biology
The Center for Embedded and Networked Sensing (CENS) has come up with a cool way to use smartphones to quickly and easily link GPS data to photos and store that data so that it can be mapped. The National Park Service is now using the technology to record locations of invasive plants in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
