Greeking Out  

The first prosecution under the Nonindigenous Aquatic Nuisance Prevention and Control Act has led to a $3 million fine and a 3-year ban from US waters for Greek shipping company Polembros. Some of the funds will go towards marine invasives research/

Hydrilla Redux  

The invasive aquatic plant Hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata) has been found in Damariscotta Lake in Maine. This is the second known site for hydrilla in that state. The infestation was found by a volunteer invasive plant monitor.
