Autumn olive in fruit

Sometimes bad things can be very nice to look at - and to eat. I know it's truly fall when people start finding their way to the ISW while searching for recipes that use the fruits of the autumn olive (Elaeagnus umbellata).
Thank you for teaching me something today. Just got back from a weekend in the country (in Portugal) and my in-laws have a tree like this which we all thought was some kind of currant.I'll definitely be looking at the recipes.
