The Toronto Star has an interesting article about the past, present and future of the introduced Eastern grey squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) in the U.K. and Europe. Coming from Canada, the article gives the perspective on a relationship with a native animal many people consider pests. I think Red Squirrels are super cute; hubby calls them "little red devils." Gray Squirrels come in second (esp. the black variety), and I think Fox Squirrels, our most numerous, are just ugly.
