This past week in invasive species blogging:
- Blog, MD has a very interesting post about a mosquito-borne virus known as chikungunya (and an update here). It's spread by the invasive Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus). [Thank you to the ISW reader who sent this one in, I cannot find your name!]
- Greenman Tim blogs about the mysterious collapse of non-native honeybee colonies in America over at Walking the Berkshires. Biotunes also does the bee dance.
- Invasive Notes has a thought-provoking essay about genetically engineered ornamental plants.
- The Snaily Page has a post about gigantic East African land snails (Achatina fulica) in Hawaii.
